I had the same criteria as you and I got an Oyster 3. It completely fit the brief and I loved it. I got it for my first "baby" who is now 5 and a half, then used it with my next one too, and then gave it to a friend to use when she had a baby, and now I'm expecting my third in November and so she's giving it back to me. It's still going strong! One other thing I really appreciated about it was it has a really good sized basket to stick all my shopping/rucksack with baby stuff/etc in. One feat
'Completely fit the brief and I loved it' — used for 5.5+ years across 2 children, lent to friend, getting it back for 3rd child. 'Still going strong!' Good sized basket. Exceptional longevity
As well as John Lewis, there's also the pram centre down off of gallowgate. It's a big showroom with a gazillion different prams for you to have a nosy at, you can have a push and practice folding up the prams. We went and picked a pram there then ordered it online for something like £200 less 🌚 for pram recs, we went for an oyster 3. It was about £750 for the full travel system and a couple accessories. It's quite light for pushing and easy enough to fold and unfold. Definitely worth trying a

We bought a second hand pram/pushchair system, all terrain, oyster 3. Couple of scratches to the chassis but honestly I'd do that myself in no time on a new one. £90 from Facebook marketplace! We're big on our car seat safety (this is our third and will be the third we do extended rear facing with) so the car seat we're looking at it £££ but honestly we'd end up spending similar if not more if we got separate seats for each stage and this should do them til they're about 7 years old and keep

I got an Oyster 3 secondhand which has been great - the seat lies flat so can in theory be used from birth, though I'm not sure the straps really go tight enough for a proper newborn if you don't want to use a carrycot at first.
'Got an Oyster 3 secondhand which has been great - the seat lies flat so can in theory be used from birth' but notes straps may not go tight enough for proper newborn — positive with caveat
The problem with asking this is almost nobody has tried more than one pram. We have the oyster3, which i believe was around 700, its been pretty good although a bit heavy to carry
'Around 700, its been pretty good although a bit heavy to carry' — honest but brief assessment, acknowledges most people only try one pram so hard to compare
