3 years of use and 'still going strong' — demonstrates exceptional durability for a budget mat
My opinions- Don't waste money on expensive ones. My friend had one of those 50 quid anti slip anti roll etc ones but it really isn't necessary. She regretted it. It is safer to change baby on the floor. There's not really such thing as a completely immobile baby. So eliminate the risk and use the floor. Get a simple, wipe clean changing mat, I got one for upstairs and one for downstairs. A pattern over plain is better as it won't show wear so quickly. I got a mamas and papas one for £16 an

We always use a changing mat, whether on the changing table or on the floor. I had no idea there were expensive ones though.. I honestly think you'll be fine with a standard one. We have a mamas and papas essentials one that was about £20 and it looks new despite lots of daily use. Surprised people don't use them - I'd much rather give something a quick wipe than add to the huge pile of laundry.
M&P Essentials at £20 — 'looks new despite lots of daily use'. Prefers quick wipe over laundry. Questions need for expensive alternatives
I regret buying a white one - first poo home from the hospital got onto it and stained it! A mustard yellow one would hide everything! I wanted one that wasn't too wide. I went for a Mamas and Papas one, you can use both sides.
Chose for narrow width and reversible design (both sides usable). Regrets white color choice (stained) but positive on product features
I loved these pre baby. Now said baby is here. I'm so glad I don't have one. Projectile poop goes a surprisingly long way, we have a basic mamas and papas mat and even that is "wipe" clean and still takes a decent clean after a poo incident! Some baby things are practicality over prettiness 😅 we have a lovely changing table still, it's an IKEA one where the top sort of folds away so it still stays neat and tidy
Has basic M&P mat — notes even 'wipe clean' mats need decent cleaning after poo incidents. Pragmatic positive about choosing practical over pretty
