Avionaut sky for sure! Great from birth, ERF, Swedish plus tested - just fab all around, definitely the best option
"just fab all around, definitely the best option" — enthusiastic, notes from-birth use, ERF, Swedish Plus tested credentials.
I would go for the Avionaut! Best of the 3 from birth, I'm very big on ERF and it's so universally loved - what an amazing group of friends you are ❤️
"Best of the 3 from birth", "so universally loved" — top-voted comment (26) recommending Avionaut Sky over BeSafe options for from-birth use.
We have an Avionaut Sky 2.0 and it's wonderful!
"it's wonderful!" — direct owner, enthusiastic endorsement of the Sky 2.0 specifically.
Look at extended rear-facing seat that have been Swedish plus tested! There are a few Facebook groups that you can look into for guidance and references such as @carseatsafetyuk We have an Avionaut Sky Q for our toddler and love how compact and comfortable it is and no head flop! Some other reputable brands that I can name are: BeSafe, Britax and Axkid! Good luck
"love how compact and comfortable it is and no head flop!" — specific praise for compactness, comfort, and head support. Key differentiator: no head flop.
We have the Avionaut Sky which we love. If safety is your biggest concern, you could narrow down to Swedish Plus tested seats.
"we love" — direct ownership with safety credentials highlighted. Swedish Plus tested.
Avionaut Skys for both my 3yo and 18mo. Avionaut Cosmo for my 10 week old.
Owns Avionaut Skys for two children (3yo and 18mo) — repeat purchase across multiple children demonstrates high satisfaction with the brand.
I came to this expecting some very poor choices but those options are excellent and it's a lovely gesture! I can only advocate for the Avionaut because I have one and it's lovely! However, if the Besafe B 36kg fits truly from newborn (the avoinaut does), it will last longer as it's 36kg limit. Thank you for supporting extended rear facing!
"I have one and it's lovely!" — direct owner advocacy. Notes it fits from newborn. Acknowledges BeSafe may last longer at 36kg limit.
From an Avionaut owner. Go for the Sky it will get the most use out of it and is 100% suitable from birth. If the seat might be moved from the main vehicle to another, a spare pair of tethers is also handy. The seat is also compact and will fit nicely in most cars with plenty of room for the front passenger. Baby, if small will be lost in the Be Safe, most babies won't fit in here till after 6 months. Hope this helps a bit :)
Owner recommends it for "most use", "100% suitable from birth", "compact and will fit nicely in most cars with plenty of room for the front passenger". Compared favourably to BeSafe for newborns.
So so so happy to see plenty of rear facing suggestions here! If you're wanting compact the avionaut sky is your best choice (as long as your children aren't high centiles). If you're looking for a budget while secondhand isn't recommended on Facebook there is a car seat safety sales page. The members of this page are people that have an active interest in child safety so you could get a second hand seat in good faith there.
"your best choice" for compact ERF — top recommendation for space-constrained situations. Notes caveat: not ideal for high centile children.
Axkid minikid 2 and Avionaut Sky here, both lovely seats. Axkid is a bigger shell and a bit heavier so might suit the taller child but both 25kg seats. Both ERF, Swedish plus tested. Belted and tethered, easy to put in and take out once you know. Lots of pay in installment plans on websites now to help spread the cost.
"both lovely seats", "easy to put in and take out once you know". Notes Avionaut is lighter and smaller-shelled vs Axkid.
I'd say avionaut because of how compact it is, even if they have a big enough car it'll still be good if they downsize, want to use it in a smaller grandparents car etc
Recommends for compactness — versatile across different car sizes including grandparents' cars. Practical consideration.
Go for the Sky if that's your main priority. The Sky is Swedish Plus tested, but all Avionaught seats are tested extremely rigorously. We have the Cosmo infant seat and will be moving to the Sky once we max out the infant seat. On posts like these it's best to clearly lay out what your priorities are so you can get the best responses, the prompt is a little vague as you didn't specify you wanted Swedish plus only and also that the seat has to last to a specific age.
"Go for the Sky" — planned upgrade from Cosmo to Sky. Notes Swedish Plus tested and rigorous testing across the Avionaut brand.
