Another vote for John Lewis. The everyday cot and cot bed are fantastic. Light but stable. The cot has been taken apart and put together too, and was just as secure the second time around if that helps.
"The everyday cot and cot bed are fantastic. Light but stable. The cot has been taken apart and put together too, and was just as secure the second time around." Enthusiastic endorsement with durability detail.
We've just taken the side off our basic. John Lewis cotbed and it's been an easy peasy transition - minimal change for toddler. No sleep disruption. So from my sample of 1 I think they're great. It's not one that extends so I can't comment on that. But as a cot bed it's 140x70 so bigger than a standard cot, he's 2.5 now I imagine we'll get another few years out of it.

John Lewis anyday cot bed. Light enough to move on your own, but heavy enough my toddler hasn't tipped it. Basic, but it really does do the job.

We got one from John Lewis that transitions to a toddler bed. Very sturdy and just moved to the toddler bed portion of it. https://www.johnlewis.com/little-acorns-classic-cotbed-white/p6318946

John Lewis everyday cotbed. Side pops off when you are ready, it's light weight so you can move it easily but strong enough that it doesn't move when the toddler bounces in it (ask me how I know...).

My 4 month old has been sleeping in a full size (140x70) cot bed since the day she came home from hospital. It goes down two more levels and the sides come off. It's a John Lewis one which I got off FB marketplace for £40, then I just bought a new mattress for it (one that has a firm baby side and then flips to a slightly softer side for a toddler.
"My 4 month old has been sleeping in a full size (140x70) cot bed since the day she came home from hospital. It goes down two more levels and the sides come off. It's a John Lewis one." Used from birth, multiple height levels, sides removable, bought secondhand for £40.
We have a cot bed from John Lewis and my son is still in it (about to turn 4). Mine doesn't have the option of an extension, it's just a large cot size (70x140), where the side can come off to change it from a cot to a toddler bed.
"We have a cot bed from John Lewis and my son is still in it (about to turn 4)." Son nearly 4, 70x140 dimensions, side comes off for toddler bed conversion. Exceptional longevity to age 4.
I got mine from FB marketplace. £25 for a solid wood John Lewis one, full size convertible to a toddler bed. I just bought a new mattress.

I got £100 gift card for John Lewis so just bought their own brand one. It has two heights and it's made of wood and was easy to put together.

We got a John Lewis one and it was pretty easy to assemble whilst being a good sturdy cot.

We've got a big standard £50 one from John Lewis as it's for a short time between his next to me and his bed (he's still in our room but outgrew the next to me). Invest in a decent mattress instead - after lots of research I went for a snuz one.
"We've got a big standard £50 one from John Lewis" — direct ownership, notes £50 price point and recommends investing in mattress rather than expensive cot. Practical, positive endorsement of the value approach.
I think a lot of cotbeds are quite similar - as with everything you'll pay more for branding and maybe slightly better materials. I know ikea is popular, and John Lewis does an anyday version of a cotbed that's quite reasonable. We went for the Luna cotbed from babymore, and moved our little one in at around 5 months. He's now almost 15 months and always sleeps well in it so assume it's comfortable!
"John Lewis does an anyday version of a cotbed that's quite reasonable" — mentions it as a good option alongside noting most cotbeds are similar. Context: commenter bought a different brand but recommends JL Anyday.
