Aesthetics over practicality I'm afraid, it'll be in the bin within a couple of weeks!! The best changing mat I've ever used is the IKEA one with the high sides. I bought one and bought another for downstairs changing. It is easily cleaned and can be lined with hand towels.
'Best changing mat I've ever used' — bought two for upstairs/downstairs. Praises high sides, easy cleaning, lines with hand towels
The IKEA one (VADRÄ) is brilliant - even now at 9 months she still hasn't managed to escape that one. We also have some puppy pads on hand in case it was a messy poo. For travel one, I'd recommend one that has pockets as mine doesn't and the wet wipes keep falling off in my bag 😅 And try to get one that has the outside made of waterproof/water resistant rather than fabric.
Names specific product (VADRÄ), uses at 9 months, calls it 'brilliant' — baby can't escape it, uses puppy pads for extra protection
We bought the IKEA one (it's grey with cream polka dots). We have multiple because I change on the floor but it's awesome because it's waterproof. I fold it up and shove it in the nappy bag, pram caddy, and around the house. As soon as they get dirty I throw them in the wash. I really wanted the expensive silicone ones, but we ended up always changing on the bed upstairs or on the floor, so we'd just lay the IKEA mat down. Zero regrets.
Owns multiple, uses everywhere (nappy bag, pram, around house) — waterproof, machine washable, 'zero regrets' vs expensive alternatives
Mama shack anti roll mat has lasted through baby #1 for 6 months, storage for a few years and now baby number #2 and is in pristine condition (although my babies aren't high in weight percentiles!). Once a padded one no longer needed, the IKEA changing mat is perfect (and can go on the wash in case of a mess!). It's in good condition still, ones been used for 2.5yrs!
Owns IKEA mat for 2.5 years, still in good condition — praises machine washability and calls it 'perfect'
We've been using the [IKEA](https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/vaedra-babycare-mat-80226137/) mat, bought 3 covers for it and it still looks like brand new one year on.
One year use with covers, still looks brand new — links to specific VÄDRA product
For home we have the Vadra mat from Ikea. I think they're great! We have one for the living room, one for bub's room and one for my parents' place. Cheap, simple, big, easy to wipe down. Put it on a table or on the floor. For out and about I just use the one from the NSW baby bag, does the job.
Names Vadra specifically, owns three for different locations — praises being cheap, simple, big, easy to wipe, versatile placement
I just bought a $15 changing pad from Ikea 👍 You're literally just changing the diaper for like 2mins. Edit: It's wipeable & super easy to clean.
Cites low price ($15), wipeable, easy to clean — makes case that expensive pads are unnecessary for 2-minute task
We have the foam one from IKEA. We got it second hand. I tend to use a reusable puppy pad on top of it to save any mess - we have 3 pads so can chuck them in the wash if they get wet or dirty. I can count on one hand the number of times she had a wee while we were changing her nappy. She's nearly 21 months now and we are still using it.
21 months of use from secondhand purchase — uses reusable puppy pads on top for mess protection. Demonstrates durability
I don't know between the ones you've posted here but we got the IKEA one (it's waterproof so you could use it without a cover) with some generic cotton covers that we wash with the baby laundry once or twice a week or whenever they get dirty. Get some covers in black or poop colour so you don't have to spend time removing the stain haha. Cheap and good enough!
Praises waterproof surface usable without cover, uses generic cotton covers — practical tip about dark colors for stains. 'Cheap and good enough'
I got the IKEA one (the thicker one) for the changing table and a thinner one from John Lewis if I ever need to put one on the floor.
Owns IKEA thicker variant for changing table — chose it specifically for that purpose. Positive but practical description
