This is the one item we are so glad we splurged on and said we would recommend to friends! Our girl has pretty much never cried during nappy changes, it even used to calm her down if she was already crying! She's a winter baby too so it was cold at times but the mat never seemed cold. She's weed mid change a good few times and this collects it all at the bottom super easy to mop up quickly with kitchen towel we have next to it. It's really easy to wipe clean in general. We also now easily lift
Enthusiastic recommendation — baby never cries during changes, material not cold even in winter, pee collects easily, 'the one item we are so glad we splurged on'
I don't know about those mats, but I invested in the Shnuggle Squishy change mat and it's been worth it's weight in gold. It's all ONE piece. So no backing or seams to worry about liquids getting into. Lovely rim going all the way around and a slight slope so everything runs down away from baby. It's very hard wearing too. I constantly catch it on things when moving it around the house and it doesn't show any scuffs or stains.
Enthusiastic — 'worth its weight in gold'. Praises one-piece construction (no seams for liquids), rim, slope, hard-wearing despite being moved around constantly
So we did actually fork out for the Shnuggle one and we love it, not an anti-roll one but such a good purchase. It's titled slightly which is designed for reflux, but it mostly comes in handy for when baby does pees/poos, because it has a rim around the outside, it means the liquid all pools to the bottom so doesn't cover him and makes it easier to clean. It's also super easy to wipe down because its firm, and the material isn't cold when baby lies down on it. It isn't the cheapest but for us it
Detailed positive review — praises tilt for pee pooling, rim, ease of wiping, warm material, firm surface. 'such a good purchase', 'one of our fave products'
We have a shnuggle mat that looks as good as the day we got it. It has lasted 2.5 years! [Mat](https://ShnuggleSquishyBabyChangingMathttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0744NVGPD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)
Owns for 2.5 years, still looks new — 'looks as good as the day we got it' demonstrates exceptional durability
I loved mine so much! Lasted 2.5 years and I gave it away recently as we re did his bedroom. I'd defo get it again
Lasted 2.5 years, enthusiastic about repurchasing — 'loved mine so much', 'I'd defo get it again'
I love the shnuggle changing mat we have! It's a grey foam feeling, but waterproof wipable one, with a bit of a slant and an edge to it. Still using it at 21 months!
Still using at 21 months — describes material (grey foam feeling), waterproof, wipeable, slanted with edge. Enthusiastic
With my first, I cheaped out and got the usual foam style ones. We went through 3 or 4 because they kept cracking and ripping. With my second, we got the schnuggle from the start and it was great. Easy to clean and held up much better than the cheap ones. I even managed to sell it on facebook marketplace for £10 when we were done with it, so it worked out much better value than the normal ones.
Comparison to cheap foam mats that cracked — Shnuggle held up much better, easy to clean, retained resale value (£10). Better long-term value
We got gifted a Shnuggle changing mat. It's £60 quid and I love it! Easy to clean, comfortable, and slanted so when baby wees it pools downwards. For travel, we got a cheap £15 one from Amazon that folds out and holds nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, and any creams. https://amzn.eu/d/9DCph0A
Owns, names price (£60), praises ease of cleaning, comfort, and slanted design that pools wee downwards
I got the shnuggle one for baby #2 and have no regrets. Easy to clean and has held up really well as he approaches 1. With my first, we went through multiple cheaper ones (including the IKEA) which all split. I think we ended up spending the same as the cost of the shnuggle. I try not to spend a lot on baby gear but it's been worth it for us.
Switched from cheaper mats (incl IKEA) that split — Shnuggle held up well approaching 1 year, 'no regrets', cost equivalent to replacing cheap ones
We bought ours second hand and it's still almost good as new 15 months later. We LOVED it for the newborn stage as our baby girl peed a lot while we were changing her (particularly if the change took longer due to wiping up a large poo), and the angle and rim of the shnuggle meant that the pee all collected at the bottom, didn't make her back/clothes wet, and was easy to wipe up. With a boy that is able to pee more upwards, it might work less well, but I would imagine still useful. We had the m
15 months use, bought secondhand and still like new — praises angle/rim for containing pee, easy cleanup. 'LOVED it for the newborn stage'
We have it and loved it for baby 1, going to use it again for baby 2 still looks brand new. We used puppy pads under baby & on top of the mat for the first few months.
Used for first baby and reusing for second — still looks brand new, demonstrating durability across multiple children
I have it and I love it. Same as someone else said - the rim is really handy to catch wee and it's easy to clean. My friend bought one too and also rates it after using a cheaper more standard mat
Owns and loves it — praises rim for catching wee and ease of cleaning. Notes friend also upgraded from a cheaper mat
Like everyone else here, have it and love it! Daughter is 18 months and small and we still use it, easy to clean and has caught lots of pee over it's time too!
18 months of use — praises ease of cleaning and pee-catching ability over extended period
It's great and the material it's made from genuinely does feel warmer for baby compared to a cheaper mat (I had both and was able to compare!)
Direct comparison to a cheaper mat — Shnuggle material feels warmer for baby. Had both and compared
We have it and still use it at 13 months and my daughter is in the 80th% so its held up really well.
Still using at 13 months with a larger baby (80th percentile) — demonstrates durability and size adequacy
We also love ours. I put a muslin on it so it's not cold when using e.g. straight after bath time. Angle works great for us. We use it on the floor. I wouldn't have used it on a changing table. Just to note, the grey one is silky smooth so you can see everything on it like moisturiser and baby slips around on it. I got the green one and it's a matt finish. Can't see anything on it and a lot less slippery.
Positive but notes the grey version is slippery and shows marks — recommends green matt finish instead. Practical usage tips about angle and floor use
It is pricier than other mats, but I personally thought it was worth it. 8 months later it still looks like new. It's indeed easy to clean and the best part is that it's slated so the pee goes down. Also, it looks big, but baby will quickly outgrow it. Warning, don't know about others but the first couple months we just changed baby on a towel on the floor. Ftm panicking baby will still somehow roll off the changing table.
Positive overall but notes baby outgrows it and acknowledges high price — 'pricier than other mats, but I personally thought it was worth it. 8 months later it still looks like new'
We have this one, and it's been great! The rim has caught a lot of rogue pee and it's really easy to clean and sanitise. We had to get rid of a cheap foam one because the smell of pee soaked into it whereas this one has held up great. My daughter just turned 1 and she's a bit too big for it now though, that's the only downside to me.
Positive with one caveat — rim catches pee, easy to clean vs cheap foam that absorbed smell. But daughter outgrew it by age 1
We have the Shnuggle changing mat which we used as our main changing mat upstairs and were happy with it, will be using it for our second who's due next month. We used it on top of a set of drawers when he was a newborn but did also move it around a fair bit to change him on bathroom floor etc and when he started rolling we pretty much kept it on the floor. For downstairs changes we did keep a travel mat handy rather than going upstairs each time. I wouldn't say you absolutely need the Shnuggle
Happy with it and reusing for second baby, but tempers recommendation — 'I wouldn't say you absolutely need the Shnuggle' while still being positive overall
I have it and I didn't like it or use it. The angle made it awkward and it was slippery so my baby would just slide down it. Honestly just ended up changing on the floor on a towel and wash the towel if need be. I normally slide the new nappy under the old before changing for a swift change. Was way easier than trying to get a wriggly baby to stay still on a slippy changing mat
Owns it but didn't use it — found angle awkward and surface slippery causing baby to slide down. Abandoned it entirely for a towel on the floor
