Love the baby Buddha 2.0 with nenesupply collection cups. I used Elvies with my first five years ago and I had to pump for almost 20 min to empty. I only pump 5-6 min each side now with BB.
"Love the baby Buddha 2.0." Only 5-6 min per side vs 20 min with Elvie. Dramatic efficiency improvement with specific timing comparison.
Baby Buddha. I also tried Spectra and wearable cups and neither of them emptied me as effectively as baby Buddha did. I was nervous about losing my supply since I wasn't emptying my breasts with spectra so I looked into other options. I bought baby Buddha at around 1month pp and exclusively pumped with it for 13 months. It has a REALLY strong suction and it works great with hands free bras. Make sure you lubricate your nipples (coconut oil and any nipple cream will work). A lot of times I pu
EP for 13 months exclusively with Baby Buddha. Spectra didn't empty her effectively. "REALLY strong suction." Detailed routine with tips about lubrication.
Hi! It sounds like you have a couple of wearable pumps but might not have a primary pump, which is really the only way to build your supply. Wearables are just for moments when you're on the go and pumping with a wearable is better than missing a session. If you want to build your supply you need something with full strength! Doesn't mean you have to be tied down though. I have a BabyBuddha and absolutely love it because it's tiny and comes with a lanyard so you can wear it around your neck whil
"Absolutely love it because it's tiny and comes with a lanyard." Full primary pump strength but portable. Specific about building supply without being tied down.
I actually hated the Spectra and felt the let down function didn't work well, although everyone responds differently to different pumps. My personal favorite for 2 kids was the Baby Buddha. Buying another one for my third baby.
"Personal favorite for 2 kids." Buying another for third baby — ultimate repeat purchase endorsement. Hated Spectra by comparison.
I have the s1 and baby Buddha. The baby Buddha is amazing
"The baby Buddha is amazing." Owns both S1 and Baby Buddha. Simple but enthusiastic endorsement.
I first started w/the s1, but after getting used to pumping, i switched to the baby Buddha and haven't looked back. I'm on my second EP journey and only use the BB (or Elvie double wearables when I'm on the go).
Switched from Spectra S1 to Baby Buddha and "haven't looked back." Now on second EP journey using only BB. Strong loyalty endorsement.
I have four kids and hands free was the only way I survived pumping. The Baby Buddha was the best choice for me because it is small, easy to move around with, and still has really strong suction. I could get good milk output while cooking, picking up toys, or helping the older kids without being stuck in one spot. It made pumping feel less like a chore and more like something I could actually keep up with. For me it was the only pump that truly fit into real life with kids.
4 kids, "only pump that truly fit into real life with kids." Small, strong suction, good output while multitasking. Made pumping sustainable long-term.
I was just thinking about this today because I saw another mom asking about pumps and it reminded me how big of a difference the right one can be. I've breastfed all four of my kids and have gone through a handful of different pumps. The one I've come to is the Baby Buddha. It's small and lightweight so I can clip it on and keep moving around the house while pumping. I really makes life so much easier with older kids too. The suction is strong but easy to adjust so it never is too harsh.
4 kids, multiple pumps tried, settled on Baby Buddha. Small, lightweight, clip-on, strong adjustable suction. Makes life easier with older kids.
It's pretty hard to know what will work for you until you try unfortunately. I think the spectra is the safe bet because it is the one most people use and it seems to work best for a lot of people. I never wanted to pump much, but here I am on an EP journey and I hated being tied down to my spectra. Even though I have the chargeable one it is just big and hard to move around with. Also, it was not the most effective for getting milk out for me. I recently switched to a baby Buddha and it is so
Switched from Spectra to Baby Buddha. "So" much better — more effective, more portable. EP journey where Spectra was too big and less effective for her.
The only one that's portable and strong enough to establish supply is baby Buddha 2.0. It's not technically a wearable bc there's tubes but if you get cups with it it is very portable. Like the size of an iPhone instead of a bowling ball like the other primary pumps.
"Only one that's portable and strong enough to establish supply." Size comparison: iPhone vs bowling ball. Specific about portability + power combination.
Those two pumps aren't really reliable or known for their suction power! I will try something with better quality section and efficiency! Effective stimulation is something that I feel like a lot of pumps lack as well! NCVI didn't empty me at all. I would say check out the Babybuddha. Nothing compares to the section of their new 2.0.
"Nothing compares to the suction of their new 2.0." Recommends for quality suction and efficiency. Compared to NCVI which failed to empty.
It's pretty important to use a strong primary (i.e NOT a wearable) to establish and maintain supply. I am a big fan of BabyBuddha because it's strong enough to be a primary but very versatile and can be used with collection cups! It totally helped my supply and is the pump I reach for most (out of several!)
"Big fan." Strong enough to be primary but versatile with collection cups. "Pump I reach for most out of several." Supply improvement noted.
From my 2 pregnancies here are the following pumps I've used: Spectra S1 (Blue), Spectra S2 (Pink), Medela Symphony, Baby Buddha 1.0, Eufy S1 Pro, and Medela manual. I used the Medela Symphony while in the hospital and found it really easy to use and effective. For my first pregnancy I used the Spectra S2 and Baby Buddha for most of my pumping. For my second, my insurance covered the S1 so I added that one and the Eufy S1s. I love all of these pumps and fit my various needs. My S2 lives at wo
Used Baby Buddha 1.0 for most pumping during first pregnancy alongside Spectra S2. Loves it as part of multi-pump arsenal across 2 pregnancies.
So I have the baby Buddha with the collection cups so I can feed my twins and pump at the same time ! They also make the similar cups for a spectra too!! I would wait to regulate until wearables.
Uses Baby Buddha with collection cups to feed twins and pump simultaneously. Specific multi-tasking use case with twins.
Of course the Spectra is most popular. What is the "best" in terms of milk output and functionality though will vary per person! Some people need stronger suction (like me) and others need the opposite. I personally respond well to the baby buddha 2.0 with spectra parts instead of their original.
Needs stronger suction, responds well to Baby Buddha 2.0. Uses Spectra parts with it. Personal body-specific recommendation.
I highly recommend the Spectra S1 (blue one). If you don't want to pay an upcharge (which many insurances do charge for this option), then I'd recommend the Spectra S2 (pink one). The S1 has an internal battery. Super worth it. I have both. I use the S1 during the day since it's more mobile friendly and the S2 at night since I'm not going anywhere and it has to be plugged in. Other solid options are Baby Buddha 2.0. It's strong but great for use with mobile/hands free cups. In my experience it
Recommends Baby Buddha 2.0 as "strong but great for use with mobile/hands free cups." Specific about its strength and versatility.
I feel like this is hard to answer. Because they're so expensive, most people have ever only tried 1 or 2. For me, the Baby Buddha is the best portable pump, but the cups are a PITA to clean. The Willow 3.0 is so far working much better for me than the Elvie OG. But if you get the Elvie from Costco, you can actually return it.
"Best portable pump" but cups are hard to clean. Specific trade-off acknowledged. High upvote count suggests community agreement.
I have the Spectra S1 as my main pump insurance paid for most of it I think I spent a couple bucks out of pocket with my first baby. I just got the Babybuddah wearables through insurance this pregnancy again I paid a little out of pocket. I did buy a manual pump as well because I was influenced but it wasn't terribly expensive I mostly used it when I was clogged..
Got Baby Buddha wearables through insurance for second pregnancy. Adding to existing Spectra S1 setup. Chose it deliberately for this pregnancy.
