I've tried dozens of different brands trying to find ones I can tolerate (i *hate* how tight things feel yet I *need* compression on my legs for several health issues including pots) and the only brand I've found I can stand to wear all day is SockWell. I buy mine on amazon, though I've also seen them in local stores like Target and such, they're in the $15-30 range depending on height. They make several different heights (ankle, mid calf, knee high, thigh high, full leggings, etc) I personally ...
Tried dozens of brands and Sockwell is the ONLY tolerable one. Detailed price range ($15-30), multiple heights and compression levels. Strong endorsement from someone who hates tight things but needs compression.
Yessss just did a 17 hour flight home from Africa to the US and I wore the tall sockwell ones and my ankles and legs weren't swollen at all. Couple years ago I went to Spain and I didn't wear them and my ankles were so swollen after the 8 hours home
Direct before/after comparison: 17hr flight with Sockwell = no swelling; 8hr without = very swollen. Strong outcome-based evidence.
I have bought other cheaper ones in past from Walmart , target . But since I discovered Sockwell they are the most comfy and they last . I have some that are at least 8 yrs old now .
Compared to cheaper alternatives, found Sockwell most comfortable and durable. 8+ year old pairs still in use. Strong long-term endorsement.
As MANY have said, sockwell. I have many pairs, some for over 4 years. They are incredibly comfortable, hold their compression for the entire shift, and I don't have to treat them special in the laundry. I wash in my warm load and dry on medium. They say that's the "easy care", with "extra care" being cold/delicate wash and hang dry. I tried that for a while, but decided it wasn't necessary; plus I prefer to wash any kind of socks in warm water. I like their company in general too. A little pric
Owns many pairs for 4+ years, "incredibly comfortable", holds compression through full shift, easy-care laundry. Only slight caveat is "a little pric[ey]" but clearly considers them worth it.
I love Sockwell, they're made out of wool, but it's more for moisture wicking it won't make you hot. The ones that are made with more synthetic materials are not that comfy (imo). My oldest pair is about 9 years old and still compresses, although fabric has gotten a little thin on some places on the foot.
Enthusiastic ("I love"), 9-year durability claim, notes minor wear on foot fabric but overall strong endorsement with comparison to synthetic alternatives.
YES!! I wear them most of the time I'm awake because they make such a big difference for me. I wear cotton ones, and my favorites are the Sockwell brand that I get at REI, but there are lots of options and prices. If you go the cheapy route, get those from a drugstore rather than Amazon, as the Amazon ones are usually counterfeits and don't do much.
Wears compression socks "most of the time I'm awake" and Sockwell is their favorite. Notes cotton material, REI availability. Practical advice about avoiding Amazon counterfeits.
Depends on how firm they are. Sockwell is the brand I buy from. I have some moderate compression socks for short flights, but I prefer firm and over the calf for longer flights. They helped me so much that I wear compression socks all the time now. Great for long car trips, hiking, etc.
Uses Sockwell for multiple scenarios (flights, car trips, hiking). Owns both moderate and firm options. "Helped me so much" that they now wear them daily.
Sockwell merino wool ones are excellent. Got mine at REI and they're still going strong after 2 years of regular use.
"Excellent", specifies merino wool material, 2 years of regular use and still performing. High score (54) indicates community agreement.
Another vote for sockwell. I've been wearing them 4-5x a week for 3 years and they are still going strong.
Heavy regular use (4-5x/week) for 3 years and still performing. Clear durability endorsement.
I tried a bunch and sockwell are the best I found. They last longer, they don't get the runs in them like some brands, and they stay up.
Tried multiple brands, Sockwell is best. Three specific advantages: longer lasting, no runs, stays up. Comparative judgment based on direct experience.
For flights I wear sockwell. They're expensive but I've had mine for about 4 years now. And they still compress tightly. For regular everyday compression I started wearing Conrad. They're fine. Not as compressive as sockwell.
4-year durability with compression still tight. Acknowledges expensive but clearly values them for flights. Compares favorably to another brand.
I like Sockwell—much more comfy than cheapies I found on Amazon that didn't fit and felt plasticky. The Sockwell are pricey but fit well and felt better.
Comparative: much more comfortable than cheap Amazon ones that felt plasticky. Acknowledges price but endorses fit and comfort.
Compression socks helped me when I was on my feet most of the day. My favorites are sockwell brand which are on the pricier side. They're more durable though than Amazon ones. I'm in an outpatient specialty though, so I don't always wear compression socks now, just when I expect to be on my feet longer than usual. I will say that varicose veins are partly genetic, so even if I don't wear them all the time I'm accepting the risk
Favorites despite being pricier. Notes durability advantage over Amazon brands. Acknowledges price premium but considers it justified.
I really like Sockwell's. Not totally BIFL but I still have my first pair from 4 years ago that I wear pretty regularly, and they still feel as supportive as they did when I got them.
Honest assessment - not "buy it for life" but 4-year-old pair still feels supportive. Minor caveat tempers the praise.
