I have a wooden one and I love it. She used the bars to learn to pull up and start cruising within days of learning to crawl. She also likes to put toys outside of the bars and reach with the other hand through the bars to grab the toy - like it's a game. The dogs sometimes lay close enough to allow her to pet them. I think this helps them feel safe around her and vice versa. She can easily see us when we are sitting on the couch and she's sitting down inside the playpen. We have the HARPPA Bab
Loves the product. Detailed positive experience: bars aid in pull-up/cruising development, facilitate dog interaction safely, allow visibility. Multiple specific use cases described.

We love our Harppa playpen, I think it was like $200. Not cheap but also not $800! Our baby is almost 15 months and we still use it every day.
Enthusiastic ('love'), specific price point ($200), daily use at 15 months — strong endorsement with concrete detail.

We have the harpaa and I still use it with my 14 month old when I'm alone and cooking. The suction cups are resting on the mat, so we haven't gotten to use them, but it's still sturdy with one side placed against the wall. She walks and runs and is pretty strong but has never knocked it over or anything without the cups.
Still using at 14 months for cooking time. Reports sturdiness even without suction cups (against wall). Walking/running toddler hasn't knocked it over.

I like the harppa! I also switched from toki mat to the playpen when baby started crawling. forget what size we have. I feel like it was most effective when baby was crawling. Once they walk, they don't really need to be contained anymore. So it was great for the period in btwn
Likes the product. Identifies the sweet spot: most effective during the crawling phase before walking. Switched from Toki mat when crawling started.

We had this issue and reached out to HARPPA's customer service. They were AMAZING. Fast-tracked us a new gate panel with an entirely revamped and MUCH more secure locking mechanism immediately. When we realized that the new gate had slightly different dimensions for the connectors we reached out again and they sent us a TON of new ones, both straight and corners. Those didn't arrive as fast, but they sent us WAY more than we expected. They were always quick to respond and we didn't have to pay f
Had the same safety defect but praises customer service response: fast replacement with improved locking mechanism, generous extra parts, free shipping. Mixed because product had the defect but company resolved it well.

I'm not even surprised by this. We got our harppa and am so disappointed. It's so unstable and feels cheap- especially the gate.
Disappointed owner. Describes product as 'unstable' and 'feels cheap', especially the gate component. Not surprised by safety defect.

I bought a Harppa play yard in May and have the exact same issue. I am in the habit of checking multiple times a day that it's screwed in securely. You're making me realize that I should be more pissed about this than I am because it is a dangerous defect and this is a baby product! I will send an email and pictures to the company tomorrow. Please let me know if you hear back - I will do the same.
Confirms the same dangerous latch screw defect on their own unit. Describes daily checking ritual as workaround. Calls it 'a dangerous defect' in a baby product.

Copying from comments in x-post: UPDATE consolidating from elsewhere in comments: the product listing on Harppa's website shows a completely different version of the latch that cannot have this issue https://harppababy.com/products/harppa-baby-gate-playpen-baby-fence-for-babies-and-toddlers However the listing up on Walmart.com shows the same version of the latch that I have https://www.walmart.com/ip/HARPPA-Wooden-Baby-Gate-Playpen-Large-Play-Yard-Fence-for-Toddlers-Adjustable-Shape-60-x-71-5
Reports life-threatening safety defect: rotating plastic latch with screw that works itself loose over time, exposing sharp screw to baby. Filed report with CPSC.

We had a HARPPA and hated it, it started falling apart pretty quickly. We contacted HARPPA, they offered a replacement or refund and we opted for the refund. In our case, the playpen had started to break down as our baby started using it to stand. We had splintering and overall instability. Nothing as egregious as this, but I'm not surprised by their awful quality. We took that refund and then bought a ComfyCubs playpen instead. We like how it can scale, we took the main playpen and added panel
Hated the product. Splintering wood and instability once baby started pulling up to stand. Got a refund and switched to ComfyCubs. Calls it 'awful quality'.
