I love my first Lark so much that I got a second one. It's used daily and it's something I look forward to using when out. My stroller has barely been used due to how much I love the Lark.
Bought a second one, stroller barely used in favor of Lark, 'look forward to using' — highest level of practical endorsement: replaced stroller entirely
Echoing what others have said, I loved my embrace from 0-3ish months (where it started hurting my back a bit) but I ADORE my lark. It's more comfortable that the embrace, fits better overall and the material feels better and more breathable. I've been using it daily since I got it in June and I'm still as in love as when I got it.
'ADORE', 'still as in love as when I got it', daily use since June; more comfortable, better fit, and more breathable than Embrace — enthusiastic with sustained satisfaction
Hope & Plum Lark. I tried a lot of baby carriers before getting this one. It is by far superior.
'By far superior' after trying many others — strongest possible comparative endorsement from experienced user
I think there are some factors to consider. For me I am Very busty, I'm a SAHM, so I needed comfort, balance -meaning center of gravity was important, and something quick and easy to put on nd off several times a day. Your babies size and needs. We bought n Ergo 360 and I hated it. I have a 99% baby and this didn't work for me. Too much padding, so many pieces to adjust, didn't fit my back and breast well. I bought the Lark. Worth every cent. Comfy and easy, baby fits and me and were hap
'Worth every cent', 'Comfy and easy'; solves specific problems (busty, 99th percentile baby, SAHM needing quick on/off); direct comparison shows Lark succeeds where Ergo 360 failed
I love my Hope & plum lark! It was surprisingly easy to figure out how to do even a back carry by myself just from watching their videos. It packs down very small, is very comfortable even for 90-minute walks, does front and back carry, comes with free 1:1 video fit check support, and has fun patterns and colors. Some people prefer the thicker-waistband waterfall style of carriers, but those will get hot more quickly and are bulkier. So it's just a trade-off.
Multiple specific positives: easy back carry from videos, packs small, comfortable for 90-minute walks, free fit checks; acknowledges trade-off vs waterfall style honestly
Hands down hope and plum! Ring sling while they're little and the lark when they meet the safety requirements. They are all women owned and operated, made in America, and heavily promote baby wearing education and safety. Definitely an ethical company!
'Hands down' recommendation; specific positives: women owned, made in America, promotes education and safety; emphatic endorsement
i have a tula explore and a hope & plum lark and love my lark exponentially more
'Love my lark exponentially more' than Tula Explore — direct comparison with emphatic preference for Lark
For a newborn, wraps are the best! I had a Solly Baby. Once my baby was 3 months, and after trying all sorts of carriers (Wild Bird, Ergo, Sakura Bloom, Hope & Plum), I fell in love with hope & plum. They're easy to use, beautiful, and you can do both front and back carry. They are actually coming out with a newborn buckle carrier soon, which I'll probably get for my next baby. Wraps are great at home but a hassle when out and about, since the fabric touches the floor when you're putting it on a
'Fell in love' after trying Wild Bird, Ergo, Sakura Bloom; easy to use, beautiful, front and back carry; plans to buy another for next baby
Hope and plum really is amazing. They are expensive but the difference on my back between that and my ergo carrier is unbelievable
'Amazing', 'unbelievable' back comfort difference vs Ergo; acknowledges price but values comfort; specific comparative benefit
Hope and Plum is amazing, woman owned, and fair wage paying. Their carriers are comfortable and will last for a long time with your baby! The prints and colors are cute too!
'Amazing', comfortable, durable; also values ethical business practices (woman owned, fair wage); specific positives including prints/colors
If you love the embrace, the lark is the natural follow up imo! They go on the same way, the lark is just larger and much more supportive so it'll work better as your kiddo grows. I'm going from embrace to lark and I love that there's 0 learning curve, it fits and goes on in the exact way that made me love my embrace.
'Natural follow up' to Embrace, 'larger and much more supportive', zero learning curve; practical transition recommendation from personal experience
The lark is very close to the ergo, just more comfortable to wear while kiddo gets bigger. Goes on the same way, soft, easy, comfy. I have it and love it.
'More comfortable to wear while kiddo gets bigger' vs Ergo; 'love it', soft, easy — direct comparison favoring Lark for growing babies
I disagree that the lark isn't good for humidity, I live in florida & it's pretty lightweight imo. it just launched in november so I haven't tried it during the summer yet, but we've had some pretty toasty days and it's been fine! their hemp generally is pretty breathable- I lived in their hemp meh dai last summer. the lark my personal fave of the options (but I echo the recommendation to try a meh dai too if possible!)
'Personal fave', lightweight in Florida humidity, hemp is breathable; counters heat concerns with lived experience
What do you currently have and what don't you like about it? All carriers have a learning curve to get the fit perfect and some are easier to figure out than others due to better and more thoughtful designs imo. My second was mostly a ring sling baby and then HBC OG when I wanted a SSC and a sakura scout onbuhimo while I was pregnant. My third I heavily used the lark in public along with ring slings (especially because I figured out back carry and torso carries with it) until around 20ish months
'Heavily used the lark in public' with third child until 20 months; figured out back carry and torso carries — demonstrates versatility and sustained daily use
For simple design, easy to use, soft I'd go with a lark!
Recommends for simplicity, ease of use, and softness; specific feature callouts justify the recommendation
I prefer an apron waist so happy baby OG or hope and plum lark. Neither of which I think you can get on Amazon which I think says a lot about the quality
Prefers Lark specifically for apron waist style; notes not available on Amazon as quality indicator; experienced user preference
I really liked the embrace as well and ended up going with the Hope and Plum Lark. I've been using it for almost a year (I got the first round of release) and I really like it. The only thing I have to compare it to are a Tula Explore and Ergo Omni 360 which feel really bulky. I also have 2 ring slings and I wish I had tried those when my baby was younger as well but they still work for us and he's a year old!
Almost a year of use since first release; prefers over Tula Explore and Ergo Omni 360 which feel 'really bulky'; sustained positive experience
It depends most answers will be based on preference. I am a small petite female who hates hassle and bulkiness. During newborn phase I used a wrap, it's a lot of work wrapping the baby and the fabric is long but it's nice and snug and fit. I'll admit some days I didn't want to put on the wrap because it's a lot of work setting it up. After 2 months I switch to ergo embrace when baby is heavier. When baby outgrow the embrace I switch to hope&plum lark. The embrace and lark are both apron style th
Small petite female who hates hassle chose Lark after outgrowing Embrace; apron style suits her needs; practical progression recommendation
Loved the embrace and now I'm happy with the Lark. I had a FTG but ultimately it was way too much padding and bulk for me. I love how low profile the Lark is and can fold up into my diaper backpack. I did have a couple of issues with the X straps digging into my neck but studied the company's videos and it got better, plus they offer free fit checks online.
Positive overall but notes X straps initially dug into neck; loves low profile and packability; chose over FTG which was too bulky; caveat resolved with videos
The h&p Lark is quite good for its simplicity, lightweight fabric, and style. I was resistant because of the hype but finally caved when our babysitters were struggling with the more involved carriers. So far, so good although I am curious about using it for back carries. Also, I definitely wouldn't use it until baby is 3-4 months depending on size. It's not for a new born.
'Quite good' for simplicity, lightweight, and style; babysitters can use it easily; notes limitation (not for newborns) and curiosity about back carry — positive with honest caveats
