You were me last year! Babe was born in June. We went with one Chicco KeyFit 35 with two bases and the mockingbird stroller. We purchased the mockingbird adaptor for the keyfit. I would 10/10 recommend both. Congratulations!
10/10 recommendation for Mockingbird stroller paired with Chicco KeyFit 35. One year of successful use with adapter.
just spent a month researching. my takeaway: Nuna - loved this one the most (mixx or trvl xl) but all of the carseats/accesories make it extra pricey. my fav uber premium option. uppababy- i found these all to be kind of rigid and too large. didn't like the vibe but its obvs popular. mockingbird - decided on this one and so far love the balance of quality and price point. truly feels strong but also premium, while not being huge, and almost all the features feel obvious instead of buried
Month of research led to Mockingbird. Loves quality/price balance - feels strong and premium without being huge. Intuitive features.
We used the mockingbird for our second and wish I had it for our first. It has very similar features to premium brands like Uppababy (huge basket, expandable if you plan to have more than 1 close in age, standing fold, multiple seat configurations. Bonus it has lots of adapter options so you can get whatever car seat you prefer (we picked a britax because of good safety reviews). Also very affordable since it's direct to consumer. You can also check it out IRL at Target I believe.
Wish had Mockingbird for first child. Similar features to premium brands but affordable. Universal adapter compatibility valued. Available at Target.
We have the Mockingbird stroller and got the adapter for our Graco infant car seat. It's been a great stroller! Sturdy, smooth ride walking around the neighborhoods, huge basket in the bottom great for grocery shopping. And half the price of others in its category (UB, Nuna, etc). Friendly customer service too.
Great stroller, sturdy with smooth ride. Huge basket for shopping. Half the price of UppaBaby/Nuna. Good customer service.
There's definitely an overwhelming amount of options… You can definitely do a combo one that's the car seat and stroller like the Doona. I think this is best for people who live in big cities or travel a lot. I personally don't think they're worth it.. you gotta buy a new car seat and stroller when they get bigger. You could get a bigger, travel system which is a good deal. Something like an UPPABaby vista or a mockingbird for a more budget friendly option with a car seat adapter is very nice
Positive language about Mockingbird with 2 positive indicators. Comment shows satisfaction with the product.
I have a Graco car seat and the Mockingbird stroller. I probably would have gotten a Graco stroller as well, but I plan to hopefully have a second kiddo pretty quickly and liked that the Mockingbird converts for 2 kids! There's absolutely no reason to spend a ton of money on a stroller/car seat. Spending $1000 vs $400 is unnecessary in my opinion when products like Graco are incredibly highly rated.
Mockingbird + Graco car seat combo. Chose Mockingbird for double conversion capability. Good value compared to premium brands.
Keep in mind that many brands (not Graco and not Chicco I think) you can make your own as they have adapters that can stay on the stroller to take a number of other brands. Then you also have brands like mockingbird which have universal adapters. I've also found that the car seats that come in the travel system packages tend to be the cheaper versions, which while equally safe, may not be as comfy for baby and have fewer features for you (like no rethread harnesses)
